Summit Ice Machine Basics

A Summit ice machine is a dedicated icemaker, not a freezer with a tray. Clear-cube models freeze water in layers, which pushes out air and minerals — the result is dense, slow-melting ice that doesn’t water down drinks at a long barbecue.

Drain-free models (BIM271OS, BIM27OSADA) recycle meltwater instead of sending it to a drain, which is the practical pick for patios without plumbing. Clear-cube models require a drain line, so plan the install accordingly.
