Is This the Right Accessory for Your Grill?
- Designed exclusively for Alfresco AIPG series grills. This sear zone kit is engineered specifically for the AIPG and 42-inch Intelligent Professional Gas Grill platforms. It is not compatible with other Alfresco series (ALXE, ALX, etc.) or any other brand. Confirm your grill model before ordering.
- Size-specific โ order the correct kit for your grill. The AIPG-SZK-36 fits the 36-inch AIPG. The kits are not interchangeable between grill sizes.
- You can add multiple kits for an expanded searing area. Because each sear zone occupies one cooking zone, purchasing additional kits and installing them side by side gives you a larger continuous infrared searing surface โ ideal for searing large quantities at once or hosting larger gatherings.
- This is an optional upgrade, not a required component. The AIPG grill functions at full capacity without it. This kit is the right choice if you frequently sear proteins and want restaurant-grade crust formation directly on your outdoor grill.
What the Sear Zone Kit Does
The Alfresco AIPG Sear Zone Kit adds a dedicated high-heat infrared cooking zone to your existing AIPG grill. Where standard gas burners heat the cooking surface indirectly through convection, an infrared sear zone radiates intense heat directly at the food surface โ reaching temperatures that convection alone cannot achieve quickly enough to properly caramelize proteins before overcooking the interior.
The result is the kind of sear crust you typically only get at steakhouses with commercial-grade broilers: deep mahogany coloring, developed Maillard reaction character, and juices locked inside the meat rather than driven out by prolonged surface contact.
What makes infrared searing different from high-heat gas searing? Standard gas burners heat air, which then heats the grate, which then heats the food. Each transfer step loses efficiency. Infrared burners bypass the air and radiate energy directly into the food surface โ delivering significantly higher surface temperatures in less time, which is exactly what you need to form a proper sear crust before the interior temperature climbs too far.

How to Use It
- Preheat the sear zone for at least 5 minutes before placing food. Infrared surfaces need a brief warm-up period to reach optimal searing temperature. A properly preheated sear zone surface will cause moisture to flash off immediately on contact, which is the key to proper crust formation.
- Pat proteins dry before searing. Surface moisture is the enemy of a good sear โ it converts to steam on contact and cools the surface, causing the meat to steam rather than caramelize. Dry the surface of steaks, chops, and chicken with a paper towel before they hit the sear zone.
- Use the sear-and-slide method for thick cuts. Sear on the infrared zone for 60โ90 seconds per side to develop crust, then slide the protein to a cooler main burner zone to finish to target internal temperature. This gives you both the surface character of a steakhouse sear and the even interior doneness of indirect cooking.
- Clean the sear zone surface while still warm. Infrared grates are easier to clean immediately after cooking when residual heat is still present. A stainless steel grill brush run across the surface while warm removes the majority of carbon deposits without requiring soaking.

Warranty
Alfresco backs all stainless steel components โ including sear zone kit parts โ with a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship to the original purchaser. All parts and labor are covered for the first two years. Igniters and electronic components carry a one-year parts warranty with two years of labor coverage. Freight Shipment Specifics

For Scheduled Delivery
Companies that arrange delivery slots necessitate your presence for the delivery and your signature for confirmation. Deliveries are made using a semi-truck with lift gate service, placing the shipment by the curb. Should you grant permission for the delivery to be left unsupervised, BBQ Kitchen Pros cannot assume responsibility for any ensuing damages. For Non-Scheduled Deliveries
Delivery services that don't operate on appointments don't mandate your presence or a scheduled delivery slot. There's also no signature required upon receipt. Without the hassle of scheduling or waiting around, let the delivery come to you. If you're home during the drop-off, the driver can be asked to place your items in the garage. If you're away, they'll position it close to the garage or main entry.

Change of Address

30 Day Returns
We accept returns within 30 days of the date of purchase. If you wish to return an item, please contact our customer service department to receive an authorization number before shipping the item back to us. Please note that items returned without an authorization number will not be accepted. Items must be returned in new condition.
Return Shipping
We stand behind our products and want you to be satisfied with them. In the case that you decide to return your purchase, we will gladly refund you for the product in its entirety minus the cost of shipping and return shipping incurred by BBQ Kitchen Pros.
To qualify for return shipping, items must be returned in the original packaging, and pallet, (if included) and within the continental US. Once your return is approved and processed, we will provide a prepaid return shipping label. Simply print the label and adhere to the package. Please ensure the returned item is packed securely to avoid damage during transit.
Remember, returns only apply to items returned in the original packaging. If an item is returned in non-original or damaged packaging, the customer may be responsible for any return shipping costs. In addition, freight shipping is scheduled for pick-up at a specific date and time, which is agreed upon by the customer. and customers must be there at the scheduled time. Missing scheduled freight time will result in a dry run fee which is issued by the shipping company.
Damaged Items
If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please make a note of it immediately when signing for delivery and send photos to support@bbqkitchenpros.com on the day of delivery.
Original Packaging Please keep all the original packaging for any items that need to be returned. Items that are not returned in their original packaging may not be accepted for return.
Non-Refundable Items that become damaged after use are non-refundable unless specified under warranty.

A. 30 Day Return Policy
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your order to request a return. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags and in its original packaging. Items must be returned in new condition. You’ll also need a receipt or proof of purchase.
B. Easy Return Process

Once your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
Items that are not eligible for return include the following:
Custom-made, special-order, and made-to-order products. Items are marked non-returnable in the item description.
C. Damaged & Wrong Products & Issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately within 24 hours if the item is defective or damaged or if you received the wrong item so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. To return your product, you should contact our mail. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.
D. Exchanges

E. No Re-stocking Fees
For our products, there is no Restocking Fee.
F. Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return and let you know if the refund has been approved or not.
